A series of focussing on combination of 'Image & Text' illustrating George Orwell's novel 1984. This is part of a series of work based on Winston's mental detereroration whilst captured by Big Brother.

"He wasin a cell that might've been either dark or light, because he could see nothing but a pair of eyes. The eyes grw larger and more luminous. Suddenly, he floated out of his seat, dived into the eyes, and was swallowed up".

"There were moments when he foresaw the things that would happen to him with such actuality that his heart galloped and his breath stopped"

"Behind his screwed up eyes a forest of fingers seemed to be moving in a sort of dance, weaving in and out, disappearing behind one another and reappearing again"

"It is not easy to become sane"

"Sometimes they attack the eyes first. Sometimes they burrow throgh the cheeks and devour the tongue. Winston could see the whiskers and yellow teeth".

"Winston was falling backwards into enormous depths, away from the rats. He was still trapped in the chair, but had fallen through the floor, through the walls of the building, through the earth, through the oceans, into outer space".

"To control your face, to disassemble your feelings, to do what everyone else was doing was an instinctive reaction"
